Military Injuries & Ministry of Defense

Personal guidance towards recognition and entitlements

An injury or illness connected with service may affect health, work and daily life. Alongside treatment, it may be necessary to gather documents, describe events and demonstrate the connection between service conditions and the harm. Mazar & Co. represents service members and veterans before the Ministry of Defense and its Compensation Officer, focusing on conditions with significant effects on functioning and future life. Adv. Yosefy Mazar provides personal guidance and direct contact from assessment and preparation of the claim through recognition and disability assessment proceedings.

Starting with your story

We establish your role and service conditions, when the injury occurred or symptoms began, and how the condition has changed. We take time to understand the details and effects on everyday life, alongside reviewing medical records, service documents and other material relevant to the assessment.

Building the factual and medical foundation

Information may be spread across different periods, treatment providers and service records. We bring the details together and identify questions requiring clarification. Our work includes reviewing available material, identifying further documentation and consulting suitable experts where needed. We present events and arguments clearly, considering the medical condition before, during and after service.

Service-related injuries and illnesses

You can contact the firm to assess an injury or illness you believe is connected with service, including:
• Injuries following an event during service.
• Orthopaedic injuries and restrictions in movement.
• Neurological injuries and illnesses.
• Heart disease and cardiac events.
• Complex medical circumstances requiring review of service conditions and the development of illness.
Inclusion in this list does not establish eligibility for recognition. Every case depends on its circumstances, service framework and relevant records.

Recognition proceedings

We examine the stage of the claim, documents submitted and further investigations required. We explain the issues and what is needed to present the case. If a claim was already submitted or a decision received, we review the material to consider representation and further handling.

Preparation and representation before medical committees

Presenting the condition requires familiarity with the records, symptoms and limitations. We assist with disability assessment proceedings, including reviewing records, preparing for the committee and representation as appropriate. We also examine the practical effects on work, mobility, independence and daily life.

Direct contact throughout the case

Proceedings may create questions and uncertainty. Every client has personal, direct contact with Adv. Mazar. We explain the stages and the meaning of decisions and keep the client informed about their matter.

Legal fees regulated by law

The law limits the fees that may be charged for handling claims before the Compensation Officer and Ministry of Defense in proceedings to which it applies. Before work begins, we clearly explain the fee, calculation method and payment terms according to the procedure and legal requirements. The terms are set out in a written fee agreement.

What to prepare for the conversation

If available, gather medical records from service and afterwards; documents concerning the event or service conditions; witness details; claims, correspondence and decisions; medical committee invitations and previous minutes; and current records of limitations and treatment. You can contact us before the documentation is complete. We will explain what further material may be needed.

Questions from applicants

I have been discharged. Can my case be assessed?
Yes. You can enquire after discharge. We will establish service dates, circumstances and any proceedings already undertaken.

I submitted the claim myself. Can I seek representation?
Yes. We review the claim and accumulated material and consider taking over the matter.

I disagree with a decision. What should I prepare?
The complete decision, the date you received it and the relevant claim documents. Mention any deadline for further action in your first enquiry.

I have a medical committee appointment. Can I contact you?
Yes. Prepare the invitation, current medical records and earlier decisions, if any, and mention the committee date.

Let’s discuss your case

If you face an injury or illness you believe is connected with service, tell us what happened. We will review the information and consider how we can help.
